Course Description
This course is approved by the United States Coast Guard and the Maritime and Coastguard Agency (MCA).

Any applicant who successfully completes the Basic Training Refresher MARTPT-68) course will satisfy the continued competency requirements for STCW Basic Training in STCW, as amended 2010, Basic Training in Section A-VI/1, 46 CFR 11.302(e) and 46 CFR 12.602(e), AND, all of the tasks from the National Assessment Guidelines found in NVIC 08-14. Applicants are not required to present completed Record of Assessment Sheets when applying for an STCW endorsement. This three-day, 24 hours training course provides refresher/revalidation training to seafarers in Personal Safety and Social Responsibilities (PSSR), Elementary First Aid and Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (EFA). Personal Survival Techniques (PST), and Basic Fire Prevention and Fire Fighting (BFF).

Any applicant who successfully completes a programme of training by the Maritime and Coastguard Agency (MCA) as meeting the requirements specified in MSN 1865 (M), Regulation VI of the STCW Conventions and Code, as amended, for the updating of Personal Survival Techniques (STCW Table A-VI/1-1) and Fire Prevention and Fire Fighting (STCW Table A-VI/1-2), and the Merchant Navy Training Board guidelines.
