MPT is the most complete full service private maritime school in the country and has been training mariners since 1983. Our Fort Lauderdale based campuses host over 45,000 square feet of classrooms, deck and engineering training labs, the Ship's Store, and student service facilities.
This course is intended to meet the requirements of the United States Coast Guard Proficiency in Survival Craft and Rescue Boats (Other Than Fast Rescue Boats) as detailed in 46 CFR 12.613(b)(3). This 16.5 hour re-validation course, in a 2-day format, is designed to meet the requirements of STCW Section A-VI/2, paragraph 5, Code Table A-VI/2-1 for an endorsement for Proficiency in Survival Craft and Rescue Boats Other Than Fast Rescue Boats (PSCRB). It generally follows IMO Model Course 1.23. Proficiency in Survival Craft and Rescue.
Any applicant who has successfully completed your Proficiency in Survival Craft Refresher (MARTPT-749) course will satisfy:
Applicants who have successfully completed your course need not present completed “Task Control Sheets” for these assessments in application for STCW certification.
The sea service requirements of 46 CFR 12.407(b)(2) and the written examination requirements of 46 CFR 12.407(b)(3) for endorsement as Lifeboatman must be met and are not part of this approval.
Previously held a STCW Proficiency in Survival Craft other than Fast Rescue Boats (STCW A-IV/2-1) endorsement
Passport (ID), Paper, Pen, Highlighter,Bathing suit/Shorts,hat,towel and sunscreen.Candidates taking this course are required to bring the following clothing for the practical lifeboat launching assessments: Long Pants and Sturdy Closed Toed Shoes or equivalent. MPT will provide the use of a work vest, hard hat, gloves and eye protection or you can bring your own.
