Satisfy the USCG Advanced Shiphandling training requirements and get some of the necessary Advanced Shiphandling assessments completed along the way! Learn about the common scenarios Chief Mate or Master will encounter such as; docking and undocking, operating in restricted waters, anchoring, using tugs, responding to shiphandling emergencies, and heavy weather tactics all while experiencing many of these scenarios in our Full-Mission Bridge Simulators. Course Description

Advanced Shiphandling - Course #620
 
 This USCG 10 day course covers normal and emergency shiphandling to the Master’s level including search and rescue operations. It utilizes MPT’s full mission SMART TM Simulation Center.
 
Any applicant who has successfully completed your Advanced Shiphandling (MARTPT-22) course will satisfy the Shiphandling at the Management Level training requirements of the STCW, as amended 2010, Table A-II/2; AND
  • The following Tasks from the National Assessment Guidelines NVIC 10-14(Ch -2): 8.1. 8.2, 8.3, 8.4, 8.5.A, 8.6.A, 8.7.A, 9.1.A, 9.2.A, 9.3.A, 9.4.A, 9.4.A, 9.5.A, 9.6.A, 9.6.B, 9.7.A, 9.8.A, 9.8.A, 9.9.A, 9.9.B, 9.11, 9.12, 9.13, 9.14, 9.15, 9.16.A, 9.16.B, 9.17.A, 16.1.A, 16.4.A, 16.4.B, 16.5.A, and 16.5.B; AND
  • The following Tasks from the National Assessment Guidelines NVIC 11-14(Ch- l ): 8.1, 8.2, 8.3, 8.4, 8.5.A, 8.6.A, 8.7.A, 9.1.A, 9.2.A, 9.3.A, 9.4.A, 9.5.A, 9.6.A, 9.7.A, 9.8.A, 9.9.A, 9.9.B, 9.11, 9.12, 9.13, 9.14, 9.15, 9.16.A, 9.16.B, 9.17.A, 16.1.A, 16.4.A, 16.4.B, 16.5.A, 16.5.B: AND

  • Applicants who have successfully completed your course need not present completed "Task Control Sheets" for these assessments in application towards STCW certification
