Medical First Aid Provider - Course #153
This 3 day course is designed for officers and crew who will provide immediate first aid and assist the Medical Person In Charge.
This course will satisfy the following:
- The competency requirements of 46 CFR 12.619(a)(2); and the Medical First-Aid Provider training requirements of 46 CFR 11.309(a)(4)(i); 46 CFR 11.317(a)(3)(i); 46 CFR 11.319(a)(4)(i); 46 CFR 11.329(a)(4)(i); 46 CFR 11.335(a)(3)(i); and 46 CFR 12.619(a)(l). AND
- The first aid competencies of STCW Code Table A-VI/4-1; AND
- The following assessment tasks from NVIC 12-14(Ch-2) and NVIC 02-18: 16.1.
This course is recommended for all crewmembers.
Prerequisites:
Each student must have completed a full STCW Basic Training course, Section A-VI/1 and Table A-VI/1 (1 - 1-4)

Provided course notes are good, helpful with the exam. But also provide a course reference guide or handbook as in all other MPT courses. The practical fire simulation was very good and real. very knowledgeable instructors. great course overall.
The instructor has a great pace, his method of teaching is logical and builds a great foundation to expand upon as you continue through the week. I enjoyed learning and absorbing the material rather than cramming. One of the best instructors I have had here at mpt.
