Rating Forming Part of a Navigational Watch: Tasks - Course #251
This simulator based assessment session is designed to meet the requirements for the skills and knowledge to fulfill the competency of ratings to perform the navigation function at the support level, Rating Forming Part of a Navigational Watch (RFPNW), as specified in Section A-II/4 of the Standards of Training, Certification and Watchkeeping (STCW) Code, as amended.
The following practical assessments performed below will be assessed and signed off by a Qualified Assessor.
1.1.A; 1.1.B; 1.1.C; 1.2.A; 1.2.B; 1.2.C; 1.2.D; 1.2.E; 1.2.F; 1.2.G; 1.2.H; 1.2.1; 1.3.A;1.3.B; 2.1.A; 2.1.B; 2.1.C; 3.1.A; 3.2.A; 3.3.A; 3.3.B; 3.3B; 3.4.A, 3.4.B; 3.5.A; 3.5.B, 3.6.A1, and 3.6.B1.
These tasks can be signed off either through this simulation session or on a vessel of the appropriate size by a qualified assessor. This is not approved as a course, you will not get any sea time credit for these tasks (assessments). The purpose of this session is for the completion of the tasks (assessments) only, you must obtain your sea time separately.
* Please note that assessments 3.6.A and 3.6.B are required by the USCG to be performed onboard a vessel and may not be signed off during a simulation. However, Tasks 3.6.A1 and 3.6.B1 are used as an alternative to these tasks. Therefore, all assessments will be signed off in the student record of assessment.
