ISPS International Ship & Port Security Officers SSO/VSO/CSO/PFSO Combination - Course #171
This 3 day course is USCG Approved. This course focuses on giving the candidate a comprehensive understanding of the International Ship and Port Security (ISPS) Code and the Maritime Transportation and Safety Act (MTSA) as they pertain to the security officers both onboard the vessel and onshore through company designations at the port facility.
Each role and their requirements will be reviewed for a complete understanding of the responsibilities and unique security considerations of each level. This will assist companies in developing and implementing their security plans.
24 hour, Coast Guard approved, Vessel/Ship Security Officer, Company Security Officer, and Port Facility Security Officer; in accordance with the following training requirements and standards: Section A/13.2 and section B/13.1, B/13.2, and 18.1 (Part A & B) of the International Ship and Port Facility Security Code; SOLAS amendments, Chapter XI, Regulation 5, and Chapter XI-2, Regulations 1 -13; Regulations and requirements defined in STCW, as amended, as Regulation VI/5 and STCW Code Section A-VI/5; the mandatory training requirements in 33 CFR Parts 104 and 105; the MARAD Model Course MTSA; the IMO Model Course 3.19; the IMO Model Course 3.20; and the IMO Model Course 3.21.
