MPT will provide the use of a work vest, hard hat, gloves and eye protection or you can bring your own.
196 Proficiency in Survival Craft and Rescue Boats - Refresher
This course is intended to meet the requirements of the United States Coast Guard Proficiency in Survival Craft and Rescue Boats (Other Than Fast Rescue Boats) as detailed in 46 CFR 12.613(b)(3). This 16.5 hour re-validation course, in a 2-day format, is designed to meet the requirements of STCW Section A-VI/2, paragraph 5, Code Table A-VI/2-1 for an endorsement for Proficiency in Survival Craft and Rescue Boats Other Than Fast Rescue Boats (PSCRB). It generally follows IMO Model Course 1.23. Proficiency in Survival Craft and Rescue.
Any applicant who has successfully completed Proficiency in Survival Craft Refresher (MARTPT-749) course will satisfy the continued competency requirements 46 CFR 12.613(b)(4) and Table A-VI/2-1 of the STCW, as amended 2010, for Proficiency in Survival Craft and Rescue Boats Other Than Fast Rescue Boats (PSC) and have performed all practical demonstration requirements as guided by the PSC NVIC 04-14; PROVIDED the applicant has previously held a STCW PSC (A-IV/2-1) endorsement. Applicants are not required to present completed record of assessment sheets when applying for the STCW endorsement.
