Mate 500-1600grt, 3rd Mate Unlimited / STCW II/1 OICNW <500GT. MPT offers all of the courses that are required by USCG NVIC 12-14 to upgrade from an Able Seaman to a Third Mate Unlimited or a Mate 500/1600/OSV/Mate (Pilot) Towing license. Mariners should plan to have completed 1080 Days service in the deck department prior to completion of this program. ** Please note that STCW Basic Training or STCW Basic Training Refresher/ Revalidation must have been completed within 5 years of application to the USCG.

205 Watchkeeping - OICNW

Plan on taking a total of three weeks, 2 weeks for BRM and Watchkeeping and the third week for Watchkeeping and BRM Assessments. These courses require separate registration. BRM is course #151, Watchkeeping Training is #205 and Watchkeeping /BRM, Miscellaneous Assessments is course #212. The three weeks do not have to be taken consecutively, however this is the most ideal way to complete them.
