MPT Joins with Designing Spaces for the Labor of Love Project to Help Kids In Distress
A group of Maritime Professional Training employees led by Lisa Morley, VP of Sales, joined other local businesses, organizations and volunteers to help Lifetime TV’s Designing Spaces remodel a recreation room at the Kids In Distress campus in Fort Lauderdale for an upcoming edition of the popular show. Representing both Marine Industry Cares Foundation where she serves as a Member of the Board of Directors, and MPT Lisa noted, “The opportunity to help KID once more with a project like this, which will have immediate benefits for the children was such fun, and was one we could not resist! KID provides a refuge and help for children and families and if we can help them make difference in their lives then we happy to do it.”
In addition to helping prepare the space for the renovation and assisting with the painting, flooring, other construction related tasks, MPT also bought all the appliances for the renovated space. Morley added, “It was a gesture that we hope will help make a great difference.” The show is part of the Designing Spaces "Labor of Love" series of programs and is scheduled to air on Lifetime in late summer.
