As you all know, we have been hard at work to totally revamp our school registration, enrollment and course framework software. All of the new programming has been customized exclusively for MPT.

Much of the work has been completed, including purchasing and installing all new hardware in the front office, student counseling areas and the newly formed student registration area. We have even added internet access for student use at the entire main campus. We’re going paperless in the front office – well almost J  Soon we’ll be having a clipboard “burning” party!

We were proud to roll out the registration process with a FREE I-PAD give –away. Students were encouraged to sign in and browse the new student portal. Just by logging in, they were entered in a contest to win the I-Pad. The student portal closely mirrors the instructor portal. Students  have access to view class schedules, enroll in courses, make secure payments on account, email their instructors, upload and store all of their certifications, documents, ID’s, etc. They are able to access this information anywhere in the world where they have web access.

We will be posting school news, industry news, and important updates online as well as asking industry leaders to contribute columns and information. Access is available via the resource section to USCG, RYA, and MCA sites for paperwork and forms. Links are there to make hotel registration easier and even help students find a good pizza or rent a bicycle!

What about the instructors???? For now you can have a sneak preview… you will soon have access to your class rosters, class schedules, student information, course content and all class materials - all via the computer. No more photocopies and USB “sticks”.  We can never do away totally with the paper work - too much is regulated by the various Maritime authorities, but we can definitely reduce the amount of it you have every week. You will be able to view school news from all departments and feel more connected to the rest of the MPT team. You will be able to email your students and receive emails from them. We will post pictures of company events and advise you of the latest in industry events.
